Pre-Star Skating Program
Overview:
This is an advanced Canskate program for skaters who are interested in figure skating or looking to better their skating skills. Usually, these skaters have already completed stage 3 from our canskate program and show the maturity to be able to stay in a group and follow instruction. Once passing stage 5 of Canskate the skater has the option to move into the starskate program.
Objectives:
- Skill Enhancement: Improve core skating skills such as edge work, balance, and turns, while introducing more advanced elements like single jumps and basic spins.
- Confidence Building: Develop the confidence needed to progress to higher levels of figure skating through targeted practice and individualized feedback.
- Technique Development: Prepare skaters for the technical demands of the Star Skating Program by focusing on the precision and consistency of their movements.
- Foundation for Advanced Skills: Lay the groundwork for more complex techniques and routines, setting the stage for a smooth transition to the Star Skating levels.
Program Levels:
The Pre-Star Skating Program is designed for skaters who have mastered the basics of skating and are ready to build on those skills. It mainly focuses on the stage 4, 5 and 6 of Canskate.
Eligibility:
The Pre-Star Skating Program is suitable for skaters who have stage 3 Canskate or have equivalent skating skills. It is aimed at those who are prepared to focus on intermediate skills and are interested in moving towards more advanced training.
Requirements:
- Attire: Skaters should wear comfortable, warm clothing that allows for freedom of movement. Proper skating attire is encouraged to support effective practice and performance.
