Edge, Power & Balance Program
Overview:
The Edge, Power & Balance program is a dynamic and intensive training course designed for young hockey and ringette players who already have basic skating skills. The program will help skaters improve their fundamental skills and techniques, all while wearing their full hockey/ringette gear. With the help of expert coaches and experienced Program Assistants, skaters will build their balance, control, power, agility and endurance, which are crucial for achieving peak performance on the ice. This program focuses on developing the technical aspects of skating, including pushing, turning, and crossovers, while also cultivating body awareness and endurance. In a fun environment, this progressive training program will challenge skaters to reach their full potential.
Objectives:
- Technique Improvement: Fine-tune skating fundamentals such as edge control, balance, and body posture to enhance overall skating efficiency.
- Speed and Power Development: Increase stride length, frequency, and explosive power through specialized drills and exercises.
- Agility and Maneuverability: Enhance quickness and responsiveness on the ice to improve overall agility and the ability to execute complex maneuvers.
- Endurance and Conditioning: Build stamina and physical conditioning to maintain high performance levels throughout practices and tournaments.
- Confidence and Precision: Develop the confidence to perform advanced skating techniques with precision and consistency.
Requirements:
- Skaters must wear full hockey or ringette gear including a helmet and pads.
- Must be able to already skate (this is not a learn to skate program), being able to stop and skate backward is also an asset.
